Guide to the ‘Costa Azul’
Originally a fishing village, Sesimbra's roots trace back to ancient times when it was inhabited by the Romans and Moors. Today, it beckons travellers with its picturesque beaches, quaint streets, and rich cultural heritage.
It's also regarded by many Portuguese as the best spot in the country for fish and seafood… to name a few: O Zagaia, O Batel, Tasca do Isaias
Arrábida Natural Park is set between Sesimbra and Setúbal and is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. The protected area known as the 'Costa Azul' is surrounded by soaring limestone cliffs that from the top serve breathtaking vistas of the Sado Estuary and Tróia Peninsula.

Flights & Getting around
Lisbon Airport (LIS) has lots of flights to/from the UK but we recommend booking soon as it is the last week of the Portugal summer holidays.
We suggest hiring a car from Lisbon airport if you want to make a longer trip out of it. Otherwise, you can get transfers and taxis from Lisbon airport which is an hour to Sesimbra. The venue is a 40min drive from Lisbon if you are planning on staying in the city.
If you are staying outside Sesimbra, we advise to prebook taxis as the venue is quite remote. Let us know and we can send you some.
